Welcome to AS Media Studies

Welcome to AS Media Studies @ WSFC.

You will be required to constantly add to your blog as you move through the coursework components of the course. Your Blog is part of your assessed coursework and will be seen by the external moderator, as well as your teachers. Therefore, it would be advisable not to write anything in your blog that you would not wish teachers/moderators to see!

When you get going with this you will need to be making comments using the following categories.

1) Working with existing forms and conventions...(reworking the familiar)
2) Working in media production contexts...(professional practice)
3) Using technology...(creative tools)
4) Thinking about audience...(making meaning)
5) Representing...(Constructing the real)

Your media teachers will tell you more about these when you get going with the coursework. However, for now, you should set up your blog and write an initial Blog entry- perhaps explaining why you chose the subject, what you hope to achieve by doing it and what you hope to actually do on the course.

As soon as you set up your blog, you must send/tell your teacher what your blog address is called and make sure it is set up so that everyone can see it. Furthmore, you need to remember the password!! You could make it the same as your college password, if thats easier to remember.

We will prompt you occasionally to make blog entries during your coursework, but is is up to you ultimately to keep it up to date.

Tristan.

Your teacher will also leave comments about your work to help you improve.

Furthermore, when you finally submit your work, the assessment will take place on line, before being submitted to the external moderator.
